OF GOD IN THE MARKETPLACE

Troy Blackmon

VP of Field Operations

Troy came to The C12 Group in 2008, with a diverse background in executive leadership, sales development, team building, and operations. Through his role as VP of Field Operations and as the Managing Chair in Nashville, TN, he is committed to serve, equip and encourage CEOs and business owners to lead thriving companies that honor the Lord and serve people.

During his tenure at Chick-fil-A, Inc. Troy learned that business excellence and glorifying God in the marketplace go hand in hand. Troy managed a P&L of $35+ million in revenue and coached business owners in operational excellence and improving financial results.

In addition, Troy has been involved in leading small group ministry, including planting a church in Seattle, WA. Troy was formerly Partner at OneAccord, a management-consulting firm focused on accelerating revenue for mid-market companies. While at OneAccord, Troy was privileged to work with numerous technology companies in senior leadership positions, managing sales, marketing and business development activities. Troy most recently served as the President of a technology private equity group, where he led the management teams of 4 portfolio businesses.

Troy has been married to his high school sweetheart, Shanna, for over 23 years, and has been blessed with 4 children, Sam, Joel, Maggie, and Abi. He enjoys golf, and competing in marathons, triathlons and trail races with his family.

Trent Messick

Chair

Becoming a C12 Chairman is the answer to Trent’s heart desire to see the Kingdom of God advanced in the lives of business owners and their companies.  Trent comes to C12 with a breadth of experience from founding his own business to starting and remaining Chairman of a Crisis Pregnancy Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

Trent founded Messick Homecare at age 23 to provide medical equipment and supplies to patients in their homes.  The business quickly grew to seven locations throughout Middle Tennessee.  Trent not only provided leadership for his company, but became president of the Tennessee Home Medical Providers Association and was the first chairman of the National Association’s board of delegates.  Trent sold his company in 1996 and became Vice President of Operations for HouseCall Medical where he had operational responsibility for $125 million in sales.

Trent has been involved in church planting, leading small groups, leading worship, and men’s groups for over 30 years.  He has a passion to see men step up to their role as servant leaders.  He is involved in ministries that plant churches among unreached people groups in North Africa and provide education and hope to 1,400 underprivileged children in Uganda.

Trent has been married to his high school sweetheart, Laura for over 34 years.  They have three children: Caralyn, Meagan, and Brandon.  Both girls are married and have blessed Trent and Laura with seven grandchildren.  Brandon is currently at Middle TN State University where he is studying business and is on the track team.

Dewey Greene

Chair

Friends called them “Ken and Barbie with kids.”  From the outside – looking in – it was true.  Dewey and Jeannie were blessed with five beautiful children, a promising health care career, and, from all indications, were firmly grounded in the church.

Looks can be deceiving.  A sincere, strong commitment to the church, with a non-existent personal relationship with the Living God, is a formula for disaster… an invisible ticking time bomb.  Dewey – enjoying worldly success – was blindly adrift in man’s sinful nature.  His world would collapse.  He, and those nearest to him, suffered greatly.

But God is present.  He is not the enfeebled grandfather that we envisioned.  No, God is miraculous.  What no man nor woman could have done, God did.  He intervened and radically rescued Dewey and Jeannie; and, one day at a time, He continues to plant their feet on solid ground.

Dewey was born and reared in Macon, Georgia.  He has BS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master’s in Health Administration from Duke University.  Dewey and Jeannie are the proud parents of five adult children, an adopted son whom God has entrusted to their care, and fourteen beautiful grandchildren.  They live in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dewey’s heart for God is reflected in his personal mission statement: “Every day, purpose to hear and follow God’s call – that Christ Jesus be honored in my innermost thoughts and manifested in my love for others” (John 15:9-13).  His hope and prayer is that God will powerfully use him as a vessel in C12’s ministry.  Dewey is also the author of “Painful Gifts”; a simple but profound story that reveals the presence of the Living God.

Brian Messick

Chair

After graduating from the College of Pharmacy in Memphis, TN in 1984, Brian has been involved with several different aspects of the pharmacy profession. Initially going to work at his father’s independent retail store in Murfreesboro, TN, Brian has had the opportunity to purchase and operate an Option Care franchise, manage multiple pharmacy locations with Housecall Infusion Services, work for Reeves Sain Medical in the home infusion and long-term care industries, and most recently, to open and manage his own independent community drug stores in Rutherford and Wilson counties.

In the Spring of 2015, through prayer and fasting, Brian believed God was calling him to be “available”. Through much prayer and like-minded counsel, Brian sold the pharmacies to hisbusiness partner in early Fall of 2015 and set his heart on becoming a C12 chair in the Middle Tennessee area.

Brian and Melinda have been married 32 years. They have three children: Katie, Grace, and Jess. Brian loves spending time with his wife and his family.

Our Members Say It Best

C12 is the largest and fastest growing Peer Advisory Group experience in the United States. Why?  The C12 Group is not a business Bible study. It's not a professional networking group or a guest speaker forum. It's a movement of Christian business leaders truly changing the world in and through the marketplace.
